Latest Art Auction

I have changed my art auctions from a weekly event to sporadic. My schedule is pretty wacky these days with the music projects I’m working on, but I don’t want to neglect my art side, so here it is, my latest art auction. This is one of my favorite recent paintings, actually, I guess it’s not super recent, it was painted in 2011. “No Stopping a Love rEVOLution” is all about changing the world with, you guessed it, LOVE! The auction lasts a week and the starting bid is $20. Happy bidding!

Weekly Art Auction

Getting back to my weekly art auctions. This week’s auction is a daily journal painting from 2007. During this period, I custom built several wood frames for my daily journal paintings. I wanted a frame that I could paint on so the painting could be continued into the frame. This was the result of that experiment. If memory serves me, I did 8 of these paintings. This is the only one left! Click on the image to go to the auction page. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! πŸ™‚

Above is this week’s art auction, “Where Flowers Bloom…”. As always, starting bid is $9.99.

Currently working on a large (24 x 36″) painting called “Forgiveness”. It’s been a while since I painted in the rectangular format, but I figured it was about time. Plus, I had the canvas lying around. Here are a few progress pics showing a few stages along the way, including details.

This week’s art auction is for a painting I did yesterday. Usually, I auction off older pieces, but this week I decided to put this one up. It’s a new idea that I was inspired to create and I’m excited about how it turned out. Albuquerque artist, Rachel Harris, inspired me after seeing one of her paintings in a local art show last Friday. I love the way she used pencil drawings in the under layer, then painted over, leaving the pencil showing through. I once, long, long ago made landscape paintings with pencil and watercolor and I have always loved the way pencil and color look together. Below is an example of one of my old landscapes.

"La Cueva", 18 x 24" watercolor and pencil, 1996

As a matter of fact, I still have prints of this painting available that I don’t think I’ve listed anywhere! The rocks are all done in pencil with the top and bottom in watercolor. I did a whole series of this style of paintings.

ETC., I am feeling much better after venting my feelings here on the blog yesterday. I have made a vow to myself to be more real and stop putting my persona out as an ONLY a happy go lucky, everything’s always perfect person. I mean, for the most part, I AM that person, but like everyone, I have my dark side too. I have decided that it’s time to take off my mask and be real, no matter how it may appear to people on the outside. This is ME, warts and all! πŸ™‚

New Weekly Art Auction!

Here is this week’s art auction. “Calm Down” is one of my daily journal paintings done back in 2007. I’ve had this one hidden away for years, just uncovered it while cleaning out the studio! This framed painting has a hand painted, hand made frame that I built from scratch because I couldn’t find a frame I could paint on. I did a series of about 10-12 of these and this is one of the few that remains with me. Until NOW! πŸ™‚ Starting bid only $9.99 as a big THANK YOU to my fans for supporting my art all these years! I am very grateful to do what I love for a living. May you ALL live the life of your dreams! πŸ™‚

The Yin/Yang of Love

original oil painting, daily journal on canvas board

Yin/Yang of Love, 8 x 8" oil on canvas board, $50

Here is my latest daily journal painting. I painted this one on Saturday and today I’m starting a larger version of this “sketch”. This image bowled me over on Saturday morning, I HAD to paint it right away. Unfortunately, images don’t always come to me that forcefully. Funny how art imitates life sometimes. There has been quite a bit of turmoil around my house the past couple of days, maybe it’s life imitating art in this case, since the painting was done first. Perhaps I had a premonition of what was coming, actually, barreling towards me. Maybe it’s the largest solar storm in years causing the jump in crazy energy around here. It could just be my pms, or maybe I’m finally hitting menopause! LOL! All I know is I am completely drained of all positive energy right now and I’m having a difficult time staying positive and upbeat, which is somewhat unusual for me. I’m usually the one preaching “you are what you think about”. Anyway, this is where my art comes in, it’s always been my therapy. So, today I’m working on a larger version of this painting which has obviously stirred up some emotions that I need to work out or through or whatever. Peace, love and happiness to all! πŸ™‚

Finally! Back to my easel!

I haven’t had much creative time lately. I’ve been working on business stuff, marketing, printing, getting my portfolio together, etc. etc. So, today, I decided that I was getting way too cranky and it was time to get back to painting! I have done several new needlepoint designs and even created my first coloring book since the New Year, but I haven’t broken out the oil paints since last year! The paints on my palette have dried up for crying out loud! So, after scraping off all the dried up paint (what a waste, I hate when I do that!) and squeezing out some different colors for my first daily journal painting of 2012, I decided on the title of my first piece before I even placed a brush in water. Balance. Something I desperately need in my life right now. I really cannot let myself go this long without being creative! I get so cranky and irritable! So, without further ado, here is my newest and first painting of 2012.
